How's the feasibility of Sunday looking?

The forecast is getting better and better for Sunday.
A final decision will be made Saturday afternoon and posted.
Right now it looks good for a match.

I'm going to try and get out of work early today to go check it out and see what everything looks like. So far it looks good.

I'll email everyone if the match is canceled. No news is good news so if you don't hear anything, assume it's on!

The lack of snow in the forecast is looking good, BUT, the thaw and upcoming rain added with the traffic of a match might be too much for the road. Hopefully, Mitch will be able to make it out to scout the conditions, soon. Hopefully, we can have the match, but if we rut the road, it will cost more to repair than we will take in for the match. Just a thought.

The road was impassible once you got to the gate as of last Saturday...but the again that was last Saturday.

The match is NOT on - the road is waaaaay too muddy for anyone to get up.

We're re-scheduling the match for next Sunday, Feb 28th.

For those who might be interested, the 2/20 Saturday range & road report.
The road past the house was still snow/ice covered, with only a few spots that had melted down, at the entrance and at the top of the hill.
bcp307's 4-wheel drive made it up OK
My van took 3 hard tries, and came WAAAY too close to getting sideways, before I made it to the top
MRB was smarter, he didn't even try to get his truck past the house.
All of the bays were still snow covered, as was the parking area, when we slid back down the hill around 3:30PM.

This snow is beginning to make my Glock look like a better choice. At least when I drop the plastic magazine into the snow, I don't have to worry about it rusting. Unlike my Sig magazines, which I forgot to clean, dry and relube after the February IDPA snow match...rust NEVER sleeps...my bad. :o

So......what's the probability that this Sunday's match might actually come off? I'm pretty sure a car load of beginners showed up last Sunday and were disappointed.......they didn't check their email before making the drive...anyway.

So far, so good.
I've set up my stage "Tight Corners & a Window" on Range #3.
At least on Tuesday, I was able to get up the hill. Range #1 still had snow on it, but the other ranges were just muddy and wet.
This should give Gary's new scoring system for RCC a beta test ;)

It all depends on what happens between now and then. As of today it was just wet and muddy. If it freezes again or we get more rain/snow we'll be in the same situation as last week.
