Just got the can off of my adapter. When it broke loose, it made a pop that was louder than a 308 going through the can. It took me, a shop guy, 5 foot cheater bar, and a 200lb vise, with a jig I made this morning. There was quite a lot of carbon on the tines of the adapter, but I can see no reason for it to get stuck.

Awesome. Maybe some grease would be in order before screwing it back on?

Is it possible that some of your ceramic glue stuff crept out of the adapter on to the threads in front? The heat from shooting it might have activated it? Just a guess..

I am afraid any petroleum based lubricant would be explosive if it leached into the blast chamber. Looking at some specialty lubes right now.

No, Rocksett sets immediately. Matt and I actually broke the Rocksett loose at the range. Carbon was what caused this, I think the .223, actually was the culprit. Next time I switch calibers, I will brush the mounting surfaces.

Copper baised anti-seze.

My bad, this can was actually held on with red Loctite, the 223 mount was held on with Rocksett. Copper based anti-seize is what I am planning to use. I bought a solid stick of it today at our local friendly New Holland dealer. I think it will be good because it is a solid instead of a brush on liquid, and I am sure we all know how a microgram of silver anti-seize can coat an entire house just by opening the container.
