Game Review: Call of Duty; World at War

Just beat this game on Xbox 360. The single player missions were not as good as COD 4; Modern Warfare, but the graphics and weapons were definitely better than the last WW2 entry.

Where this game shines, is the prize you get from beating the single player missions. Zombie Nazi's. This mode allows you to play coop with up to 4 other people, on Live or in split screen. The game drops you guys into a compound with boarded windows, where wave after wave of Nazi zombies try to remove the boards and eat your brains. It is awesome.

I give this game one and a half thumbs up out of two. Definitely a must play.

The IDPA types that attended the October 08 match might remember "ZOMBIE DEFENCE" It was part of the Halloween theme'd stages on Range 3.

The pale-faced zombies are besieging you inside your safe house, and it's "2 to the body and 1 to the head, or the Zombies will EAT you my friend!"

6 targets, with THREE scored hits per target, and one of the hits was a mandatory head shot or you got a FTN penalty. Heads painted white, for that real pale-faced zombie look. And then there were some interesting props, including my pet purple spider...

I shoot every match to practice for the upcoming zombie apocalypse. I just wish we had more machete required stages.

I've found a place that sells zombie targets, so I think that some where along the line, we'll have a zombie encounter. I'll have to confer with Jason about the inclusion of a machette at some point in the stage.

I have seen the zombie targets as well, and have been thinking of some scenarios also. If I could just figure out how to rig a stop plate up so that it will register Machete chops, then I am home free.

They are kind of agervating as they can talk but then again they only say hope, change.

I would prefer the ones who want to eat our brains. It seems to be more of a fair fight, than the ones you speak of.

I think we need zombies, Werewolves, and witches. Only problem is we need silver bullets for the werewolf stage(Guess we can make believe). And we could place water filled milk jugs over the witches head.

Well, I do carry Silver Tips in my Seecamp, but I though witches need to have houses dropped on them, at least that is where I got my last pair of ruby slippers.

Have it for the PC, played quite far and I'm having fun. I just wish these games were a bit more realistic. I mean really, get shot 5 times, go sit for 10 seconds and you're instantly healed.

Nothing beats the original Rainbow 6 and Rogue Spear games long before bringing something that complicated to a console!!

It does look pretty at 1980x1080 :D

L33T Geek, consoles are where it is at. Play some hardcore multiplier and there is no regeneration.

Mitch has been trying to get me to cross over to the dark side and use a mouse, but I have an awesome team on live that I play with almost every night. Actually he has been playing with us for the last couple of weeks, and hopefully we have converted him over.

Thought about getting a 360 and chipping it since there's so much available with torrents and it could be used as an easy media extender to the bigscreen.

I'm pretty much stuck on Guitar Hero on the Wii (bowling too) but I'm very fond of GTA4 on the PC (much better gfx than on console).

Yeah the zombie targets are pretty cool. We had one one the door of my squads hootch that was Zombie Osama. Got a good kick out of it everytime i went in, but I kept wanting to pull out my Beretta and shoot the damn thing. Zombies are bad.... Haji is bad..... Zombie Haji is just too much :eek:

um, yeah John, I know we're crazy cause we're building a freakin' 550cord hammock in our tent, but yeah Haji Osama Zombie Laden looked awesome on ya'lls hooch door. Not going to miss it though :)
