We were waiting on a bolt & carrier from Double Starr and heard they had some at the gun show for sale. We called and asked why it hadnt shipped since it was for my dads SBR he just built like mine. They said they had the wrong kind marked down for us and would change it. Still haven't received it yet and we had to pay full retail. They said they weren't discounting to dealers right now. So we are looking for somebody else to buy parts from. I need to get the parts to build a complete gun, 11.5 to put the SPR on. I have heard they could be dicks to deal with and now I know why.

I've had good luck with Bravo Co and Rainer Arms. Bravo Co in particular has lots of turnover. I was able to get a complete bolt/carrier assembly from them as recently as a couple of weeks ago. The also had upper receivers and most of the needed small parts to assemble an upper.

Bravo Company USA
DSG Arms
Global Tactical

All are great to deal with. Of course, it is hit or miss finding anything to buy right now.

If you have a Darth Vader helmet, you can try
M and A Parts. I have built several of their rifles and only ran into a problem on the last build. They couldn't tell the difference between OD Green and Black on a VLTOR stock.
I also have had very good luck with Del-Ton and Brownelles.

I might be snobbish but I wouldn't build an AR, that I was planning to keep or use, with parts from Model1 Sales, Del-ton, or M&A. Depending on the parts needed, I would add Double Star and DPMS to this list as well.
It is just like computers, garbage in, garbage out.

+1 to PKFirearms, I've done a bit of business with them and their prices are usually pretty fair.
I would also look at gandrtactical.com

Yeap, and another member on here had one also. We are not talking small issues like wrong color either.

Well, that does make sense considering they never got back to me with a quote on an AR upper after several attempts, I just figured they were good to go from being on of the suggested retailers on ST

They suck, run away from them. Many of the members on ST have had bad experiences with them. I think the only reason they are on that board is because they are banned from Arfcom

I know that they have had some shady practices, but my own experience with them has been good. I've bought a fairly substantial amount of things from them without incident. I have not, however, bought any guns or uppers, mostly just things that are sold retail at other places.
Can you expand on your experience?

My experience is based on the GSG. Never received it. No communication, and after more than six months when I canceled, he told me they were in stock.
Another member on here ordered a scope mount from him, at my house, after I told him I would give them another chance. On the site it was listed as in stock, but after 3 weeks, no mount or communication. When he called to cancel his order, he was told the mount was in stock all along, and would try to ship it out on the following Saturday.
Two chances is more than I usually give to anyone.
