Does anyone here use the .30-30 for a primary deer cartridge?

Can anyone here tell me how to disassemble a Marlin .30-30 Model 30AS for cleaning? Picked one up the other day fairly cheap but in need of a good cleaning, my first lever action so im not familiar with cleaning them.

I was just wondering if anyone can give me some reviews, and info on a Ruger P95DC, and also if anyone has ever saw it in competition. Im pretty sure the US Mil. contracted for 5,000 of them in 2004. Also is this a good home defence weapon?
