New Lower from Anvil Arms with Custom Engraving

Post by H0tR0d » Thu Apr 09, 2009 8:00 pm

Just thought I'd share this lil beauty with everyone. I designed this logo while overseas on Photoshop and had them laser engrave it onto the magwell of the receiver. I think it turned out wonderfully. Enjoy.

Very nice.

You'll have to post a pic after it is built.

Suggestions. Sure:

10.5 inch Noveske barrel, DD Lite rail, Magpul CTR stock and MAID grip, Enidine buffer, and Geissele trigger, vfg of your choice and mil-spec bolt, carrier and receiver extension. I'd go with A.R.M.S. front and rear BUIS. Sling mounts of your choice and a quality 2 point sling.

Also add optic of your choice, say a micro Aimpoint on LT mount, and 3x magnifier. You could finish it with a AAC M4 2000.

Don't forget a dozen pmags.

There you go, you've just spent $5k.:D

:)Actually, I think a M4 clone would be both very cool and very fitting.:)

Here's my parts list thus far...

AA Lower - 210 shipped + 15 FFL transfer
RRA LPK - 103.50 shipped
CAA G27 Grip - 5 bucks from Fairkid....
Milspec buffer, buff tube and spring - cost me one NVG mount that I got for free
Black CTR - 88 buxs with rubber buttpad
Surefire millenium weapons light with pressure switch - 50 buxs from Fairkid...
32 magazines, mostly new in packaging courtesy of Uncle Sam

Still need buffer tube castle nut and lock plate (thinking of getting the Magpul ASAP plate...)

As for upper, I want to do a 10.5 or 11.5 upper and also a 14.5 with perm flash hider that would accomodate an AAC can or the like. I want to build the upper as well, so I'm going with an Anvil Arms stripped upper, and building from there.

Sounds like a good start.

If you look at the video and pictures from the carbine drills I posted, Rob is shooting a 10.5", Steve has a 11.5", and I have a 12.5" so you can compare.

Yes, if you make the SBR on a Form 1, you have to have it engraved with your name, city, and state. If you use a trust to make the rifle, you need to have the trust's name engraved on it instead of your name.

I'd send in the Form 1 ASAP since it takes weeks to get back. I've used Orion Arms for all my engraving and they have done an excellenct job. You can send the receiver for engraving while you wait for the Form 1. It will also give you plenty of time to collect parts.
