Local Carbine Training Opportunity

Post by S Lance » Thu Sep 11, 2008 11:23 am

Here is a link to a possible local training opportunity scheduled for early October in Carter County. I don't know either the host or trainer, so if someone would like to chime in, please post what you know.

I know the land owner, who has been trying to set up a training school. I do not know Wade or Bushido Tactical.

Resistance is mandatory.

To be loved and resptected is desireable. To be feared will work also.

Any opinions that you would care to share on a public forum? I was thinking of attending given the location.

I know Bruce, who is an Olive Hill Police Officer. I am not familiar with his firearms expertise though.

I read the ad to say that "Wade" from Bushido Tactical will be teaching the class. I have no knowledge of Wade or Bushido Tactical. It might be great, or......

I would research the Bushido Tactical as it seems to be the moving force in the class.

I'll train anyone for a mere $300.

Lessons :
  1. Breaking your AR-15 in ways you never thought possible
  2. How NOT to reload
  3. How to properly perform a "tactical hop"
  4. Special guest appearance by Gary Stevens demonstrating the "tactical roll"
  5. Special guest appearance by Charlie Brown demonstrating that his gun now shoots, almost every time.
Just let me know if you're interested. heh heh heh

$325 for what amounts to 2.5 days (if there is a night shoot) seems pretty much in line with what most of the instructors that will come to you charge. (Big name guys obviously charge more.) Any class that is local however saves a TON of money since you don't have to pay transportation and lodging costs. Also, weekend classes mean no down time from work, and if you are self-employed, time away from the office may cost way more than the expense of any class. (By way of example, Gunsite 223, a 5 day class, is now nearly $1400 in tuition only.)

Anyway, none of this is an endorsement of this particular class, just an observation. This class might be great or less than great. I can say that I've learned things, including sometimes things that probably show more what NOT to do, at each class I've attended. We'll see....:)
