Canceled Feb 8th

Post by robertm » Sat Feb 07, 2009 4:14 pm

Just wondering why the shoot was canceled? I know the weather looks a little iffy but sounds like the afternoon could clear up some.

I was really looking forward to trying my hand on a IDPA match :( And I had to try 2 wal-marts to find some ammo for my 40. Oh well can never have to much ammo :)

I just spoke with Gary. The word is that the access road is still covered in ice and the ranges are more or less underwater due to melting snow.

Since I was one of the ones who walked up the hill to the ranges, I'll try to explain what they looked like around 2:30PM Saturday afternoon

Range #1 (plate rack) a combination pond and skating rink
Range #2 ice, slush, and snow from end to end
Range #3 about 1/2 under water, and the other 1/2 ice and snow
Range #4 (car range) tree down across right side of range, left side ice/snow
Range #5 Main range: suitable for ice skating, with slush around the edges

Not the safest of footings for movement and shooting, and given my ablility to trip over my own feet on dry, level ground...:o
Viva La REVOlution!
