Hello, anybody home?

Alright, if nobody wants to use the forum, I propose that we conduct a detailed discussion of the 45 versus the 9mm.

Resistance is mandatory.

To be loved and resptected is desireable. To be feared will work also.

Gary, you do like to stir up trouble, don't you:p

Besides, everyone knows that the .45 will rip off the bad guy's arm if it hits his pinky finger, while a 9MM will not stop a starving mouse:rolleyes:

And it's on.......

It depends on the context. Caliber-wise I don't think there is any argument against .45. The arguments against .45 start when you start talking about sub-compact pistols and other "CCW friendly" size guns because of ammo capacity (and recoil). For a service pistol I'm not sure why you wouldn't carry a .45 if you can have a full frame gun.

I don't know if more ammo is better than a bigger for most of us non-cop, non-military types. My gut instinct is to say no because the most likely scenarios I could find myself in where a gun is needed probably is not going to be some kind of shootout (or USPSA/IDPA looking target array).

I carry a .22LR now. My .38 and .40 got too uncomfortable and I stopped carrying them. I figure the gun I have is better than nothing if the need arises.

That one is easy. Only commies use AK47s.

9MM and .45ACP are too weak for anything other than rabid squirrels, and then these guns are only safe to use if you have a Beta mag in them. Us real operators always carry our Barret 82's in a single point sling.

I bet you thought Walmart let us use the carts for purchases didn't you? Nope, us real warriors know that they are there for us to prop up our semiauto 50's in condition fluorescent, while we are buying beer and beef jerky.

With today's ammo quality it is a moot point. I think it is all about which you can shoot the best.
