Question about dreams

Post by Hairy78 » Sun Nov 30, 2008 2:46 am

I just saw another thread on a gunboard about guns in nightmares. It concerned how many guys have recurring nightmares about inefficient firearms during self-defense situations.

In my personal experiences, I have at least one dream a week that I can not pull the trigger on my Seecamp, because the trigger pull is too strong. Sometimes, I have a dream that my AR's bullets are about as effective as airsoft BB's against a PCP rattled abuser. In this case, I have an endless amount of ammo, but the perp can't be put down.

Have any of you guys have experienced this type of phenomenon? From the other board it seems this is par for the course of an individual who chooses to carry a firearm, civilian, Police, or soldier. If not, I guess I am a freak.

Seriously, these types of dreams are common, and may or may not have any meaning. To paraphrase Scrooge, it could just be an undigested clam!

I have also had a dream like you described. I just keep shooting, and for once I know I am hitting, but the bad guy just won't drop.

Kind of scary for those who deal in this type of situation perhaps more than others.

Now my dreams go more toward actually sleeping completely through the night.
Resistance is mandatory.

To be loved and resptected is desireable. To be feared will work also.

Same as Gary...bullets just as well be airsoft.

Also hate ones where I'm arguing or screaming at someone and its like I open my mouth to talk and I'm hoarse...simply nothing comes out. I usually end up waking up pissed off.

Yeah Bigfoot, but when something does come out, it usually pisses everyone else off:D

I have nightmares about some liberal guy becoming President and taking all my guns, making me work to support people who wont and making me go to some government run health provider.

Scott if you would care to help me out, feel free to bill the Feds.

I see that you are already anticipating socialized medicine, you are off to a good start. The dreams will go away shortly and you'll wonder why you ever liked those icky guns to start with.:( Remember, the State needs you to keep working!

Wow that was quick, I feel better about socialized medicine already.

I thought I would have to stand in line or wait till they called me back.

The waiting only happens if you want actual help.

If you need an appointment, you'll need to fill out forms, wait in line, and someone will be happy to see you in say, eleven months.;)

I've had dreams like that before, sometimes I'll be driving and hit the break and it takes like two miles to stop, or pull a trigger and it takes 5 minutes to go off...kinda reminds me of my SKS now...I'm mothballing it until I can figure out what's going on, I had to pull the trigger like twice for it to go off after it fired the first ten rounds
