Training class at AGC?

Post by JBOGGS » Wed Aug 29, 2012 5:42 pm

Just to test the waters.....what type of training would the members and friends of AGC like to have next?

Hopefully there will be some participation in the discussion. I'm going to stick the thread.

Shotgun: There does seem to be a small crowd that shoot until dark, trying to beat each others time when we have a shotgun side shoot. I bet we would need to find an instructor that could bring his own steel targets to the class.

Ok, so one vote for shotgun cqb.

Anyone else?

An AR Class would be my choice.

Not to yank your chain or anything, but you know we shoot carbines after every single pistol match right? :) If you can hang with the RCC crowd, I'll guarantee you that you'll be ahead of 80% of the shooters that you'll meet in any civilian carbine class in the U.S.

Having said all that, I really like the idea of having classes at AGC and I'll try and support whatever the group would like.

A class on the smaller carry guns.

As examples, an upper size limit of Glock 26/27, S&W Shields, etc. Class designed for users of S&W J-frames/Ruger LCR's/Colt D-frame snubby revolvers, or Ruger LCP/KelTec P3AT's, Kahr's, Walther PPK/s, Bersa's, SeeCamp's...

Carry and draw from pocket, waistband, ankle. Draw from seated or other unconventional positions (other then standing upright, facing downrange target) Assorted firing distances, from contact to 25 yards or more. Reloading using speed strips, speedloaders. spare magazine, or even loose ammo carried in pockets. Firing using one hand, kneeling, prone, around cover...

A class for the sort of pocket blasters we wear when we're NOT wearing our Elite Force Super Tac-ti-Cool .46 caliber 1911's ;) (with the weapons mounted light & laser, red dot sight, 3 spare magazines, BUG with spare magazines, collapsable baton, fixed & folding knives, cans of OC & mace, taser, sap & brass knuckles, flashlights, and body armor with plates :D )

I think Mike wants a "Pocket Gun" class. Sounds fun!

I would second that. Something like combat life saving?
