40 s&w

im looking to try 135 gr Rainier FP plated bullets in a 5" glock barrel. need 1235-1250 fps. I have #2, bullseye and titegroup. Anybody have a pet load?

You will probably need a slower powder. Check some of the published load data for specifics. Normally in a un-compensated gun heavier bullets work better. 180 grain is pretty standard for a 40. Your Tightgroup would work for a180 bullet. Again use published load data since you would only need 950-1000 fps.

Gary is giving you good advice OP. When you deviate from published load data you run a very real risk of ruining a pistol or hurting yourself. I'm also not sure trying push plated bullets 1200 + fps is a good idea.

180 gr. bullets work great in .40.

there is some published data for this bullet with these fast powders. I was hoping somebody had a load they knew worked. ill sneak up on it carefully of course

A light fast bullet in a uncompensated gun is a handful. Would you want to shoot a match with full power 357 magnum ammo? Probably not.

For true self defense it's ok, but for USPSA go with what is tried and true. It is a waste of time to try and reinvent the wheel.
