Krink pistons are a lot shorter. K-Var has some pretty good pictures of them.

(If you already knew this, consider my sarcasm meter broken.:))

Nope, sorry bro, the only thing I know about AK's is based entirely on the couple in my safe. They are both non-sbr's, but I was thinking I ought to expand into another caliber. I really would like a SBR AK.

As for your sarcasm meter, ask me anything about an AR, and hopefully with my on-line resources, I should be able to find you an answer with about a 50/50 chance of being correct. AK's, no idea.

I agree, a krink or two would be cool. I wouldn't mind having a matched set in 7.62x39 and 5.45x39.

Me too. I am a complete newbie on the AK system. I know Slade is not.

Maybe we can get together with Slade and come up with a PCC firearm based off a blow-back caliber with on a AK frame, that uses a reliable mag system.

WTF Mate? Is that what happens when a Pakistani arms builder, tries to replicate a MP5K, with the spare parts he has laying around?

The k grip does give it sort of a HK look. I'm not sure what the gun in the picture is.

I believe that there is another AK based subgun called the Gorda SCH-21 as well.

I know of several variants out there that have been chambered for 7.62x25, 9mm, .45 ACP.... it's really just a matter of shortening the bolt carrier/gas piston, and swapping out the mag well and mag. Well, obviously a barrel change would be in order. The last part is probably the easiest facet, since the AK barrel is a breeze to replace: press out the barrel pin, press out the barrel, rinse, reverse. Your results may vary. ;)

Here's one that someone at AK files put together:

Check out the position of the front sight, right back into the front handguard, and the lack of a top handguard. Interesting....
