Dunno if the Gunkote will hold up, but I like the way it looks. I'm going to replace the stock with a folder. The handguards and pistol grip will be black polymer from Choate. I will also probably change the top cover; I only used this one I got from CTD because the original will have to be straightened before it will fit. I have another kit on deck, and I'm going to tear down a screw build I did, and rivet it.

Looks awesome. It is a shame it has to have a neutered trigger system.

Thanks. I'm actually considering an NFA deal sometime in future.

Thank you. It's still a little stiff, due to the faact that rear sight base is canted slightly. This is a common problem, usually caused by the tremendous pressure used to press out the barrel pin. The remedy is to latch onto the base and torque it. This brings the gas tube back into alignment, which in turn allows the gas piston to travel freely, which of course allows the bolt carrier to cycle, and voila: You're in battery!

{That lecture was really for my beneifit, as this is the first time I've run across this problem. Helps me get it straight in my head.}

Have you ever built a Krink? Are there any kits out there that includes everything except the receiver? Or can someone convert a full-length AK, over to a Krink? Of course after having an approved Form 1 in hand.

I have not. I have seen a few Krink kits, but most of the ones I run across now do not include the barrel.... I'd say one could make a Krinkov clone (Krinclone? Clonekov?) from a plain vanilla AK, given enough dress-up.

Me, I'd like to kind an AMD kit I can afford.

Do Krinks use a standard length piston system, or is it shorter?

I thought so, thanks for the elaboration.:cool:

J/K How much shorter? Does this require a special piston?
