Frangible Ammo???
Frangible Ammo??? UPDATE
Does anyone have any experience with 5.56mm frangible ammo? Specifically, problems with feeding or cycling in the AR series rifles? Any particular brands work best or to be avoided?
I have been afraid to try frangible ammo, since I shoot 5.56 almost exclusively through suppressors. I don't want to worry about bullet separation in the can.
Sorry I was no help.

frangible ammo
Sorry, no experience with rifle. From experience Federal was the most reliable in the past with pistol ammo.
Not for home defense (75gr TAP for that), but for use inside a shoot-house. This just showed up today. Hopefully I can get around to testing it in the next couple of weeks. I'll function test it, shoot a couple of rounds over the chrono and try a group or two. I'll post an update when done. I'm curious as to how the 45gr bullet will hold up in a 1/7 barrel.MRB wrote:Sounds good-kinda curious myself. Looking for home defense ammo?
The 45 grain will be fine in the 1/7 barrel. It is the same lenght as a 62 grain bullet. It is the ratio of the length/diameter that determines the stability.S Lance wrote:Not for home defense (75gr TAP for that), but for use inside a shoot-house. This just showed up today.
