PCC Guys, Get Your Ass to the Next IDPA Shoot

Post by Hairy78 » Fri Jan 16, 2009 10:17 pm

From a general consensus, the IDPA Powers-That-Be, have now decreed a new Outlaw class for IDPA. Pistol Caliber Carbines.

IDPA Powers That Be?!!?!!? I've been called a lot of things at work, but that is a new one :p

For those who are interested in PCC (Pistol Caliber Carbine) at the next IDPA match in February, the preliminary rules are:

Stage Description will include start position for PCC (on table, low ready, on sling, or something else)

Magazine capacity: load them to whatever capacity you want. BUT
We may specify a magazine load (like 6 rounds in the gun) to force an Emergency Reload, but we will put that into the stage description,

Use of cover/concealment, target engagement sequence will follow normal IDPA match procedures.

Any other questions...ask BCP307 He knows a lot more about PCC then I do.

Gee. That's already a lot more rules than we've been using.:) Basically we've been using the "don't shoot anyone" rule only...

Tell me about concealment garments for PCC...

I meant to ask you earlier, if we actually shoot someone, is that a procedural, or a whoopsie? In my opinion it depends on who was shot and where the bullet actually contacted. A flesh wound, well it never actually happened, but if paramedics are required, then I would think this might incur a procedural.

Concealment garments for PCC...now that's an idea!!!!

Cover/concealment as in use of walls, desks, tables, corners between you and the targets. (should have been more specific when I wrote that)

You should know us by now, just give us a challenge and we can find a loop hole. I trust that you will be shooting IDPAPCC with us on the debut weekend.

I agree with your opinion and believe that in large part, it depends on who was actually shot. There my be instances where the shooter should receive some type of reward or bonus instead of a sanction, but in general having to call EMS would probably require some type of procedural. I would argue though that if the helicopter is called out, we should defer the procedural, because helicpters are pretty cool and you seldom get to see one land at the gun range.

Scott, I agree, maybe if the helo has to land we can create an impromptu stage around it?

This would also go well with Robert's Operation Arc Light stage.

It would be nice if the paramedics would fast rope out of the chopper.
