Night Match

Post by S Lance » Sun Sep 29, 2019 7:34 pm

Our next night match is coming up this Saturday, October 5, 2019 and will occur after the day's excellent IDPA match.

Registration will start at 1915 (7:15PM) and we should be shooting by 2000 (8:00PM).

Cost will be $20.

Expect 4 stages, which might include a mixed light environment and/or the forced use of a handheld flashlight, which will be provided and mandated, and perhaps a range firearm, also obviously provided. Those using NOD's should plan accordingly, and all might consider brushing up on their handheld flashlight technique.

We are starting a little late in the evening, so we will endeavor to finish quickly. Previous matches have gone very well and I believe have been a positive experience.

Rules will remain unchanged from previous night matches and are posted below. I hope to see everyone there!

Scoring will be IDPA format, but this is a wildcat match so modifications to the rules will be made as needed to allow a safe match.

Shooters may have guns bagged. There will be no holster starts. Pistols and PCC's are okay, but no full powered rifles and no suppressors.

Shooters may utilize handheld lights, weapon mounted lights or NODs, and lasers (vis or IR) and rds's are fine.

All shooters will be required to wear a lit chemlight, visible from the rear, for safety purposes, and these will be provided.

Headlamps are highly encouraged to allow quick scoring and for administrative tasks, but are not to be used for shooting.

There will be a little supplement light in the staging areas provided for administrative tasks, but the ranges will remain unlit otherwise.

The weather is looking great for the match, and the moon should be at about 50% illumination.

It should be a great match.
